Kody on a Fixed Gear?

A nice T1 I found on Flickr

I'm afraid to say that I too, now want to get a Fixie. I've been doing a lot of research about them lately. I used to want one of these back when I worked at the bike shop in Iowa, but I've since decided that I want one again. I'm thinkin either the Trek T1 or the Surly Steamroller, OR my friend has a barely used Trek Soho S that he would like to sell. Not sure if it's my size though. But yeah, I've been lookin all over for pics of these bikes lately, and I'm afraid to admit that I may have to get one. I could do the whole build one for "cheap" thing, but I did that with my SS mountain bike and ended up spending wayyy more than I had originally planned. I'm more leaning towards the T1 because of its aluminum frame, carbon fork, and lighter wheels. I realize the steel Surly would ride smoother, but I think I'd rather have a lighter bike. Either of these bikes would be a great place to start for customization, like the T1 picture above. However, I promise, you will never see me with a Chrome bag.Trek T1= MSRP $1,000

Surly Steamroller= MSRP $720

Not sure if anyone is reading this, but if you are and you know about fixies, what's your opinion?

Voting

Today was the big day. I woke up @ 7, which I haven't done for probably over a year, and walked with a friend of mine to the voting location which was only like two blocks away. I spent 2 hours in line, but as soon as I was handed my ballot, it was all worth it. It was a pretty good feeling to vote, and I feel like I did my part for Obama. Hopefully he wins, that's all I'll say about it, don't want to jinx it. I'll be hanging out in my school's "election center" all night, waiting to hear who's won. Here are some pics I snapped with my phone while we waited in line:

and finally..

Random Awesomeness pt 1

I spend basically 90% of my life on the computer, and its a given I'm going to Stumble (get it if you don't have it) into some just purely awesome stuff, which I keep in a folder on my laptop. I just thought I would share with you some of my internet treasures. These are in no particular order, they all just vary in levels of greatness.

Talk about some true gent's. These guys are not pussyfootin around, they're here to party, and none of that weak partying either.

Sometimes college makes me feel the same way. Hang in there buddy.

And here we find Grace, from Tuscon AZ, bringing new life to the term "gettin jiggy with it".

I can only hope this is real. Some guy in this world deserves one hell of a handshake.

Certainly one solid individual.

I think that's enough if not just a little bit too much awesome for one day. Until I do this again, PEACE YO!

Singing on top of a table? Why Not? Oh....thats why..

Big Chick Falls Off Table - Watch more Free Videos

The sound of the her slamming into the ground really adds a little something to this gem. I think I've watched about 15 times and it only gets better. Enjoy.

If I had the $$

Check out this coolness:

1. Supra TUF

Super Durable and Water Resistant, not to mention badass= sounds like something I need for winter, but I think the only way I'll be wearing these is through the giveaway

2. G-Shock

Limited Edition DW5600EH

Atomic Solar AWG101-1A

Both are just sweet, nuff said.

3. Beyerdynamic DT880's

I've been doing a lot of research on headphones and you can get these for about two $200 on Amazon. Here's a pretty thorough review of them : DT880

4. New MacBook Pro

Who doesn't want one of these?

Some Quick Specs:
Glass Trackpad
up to 2.8ghz
320gb Hd
512mb NVIDIA GeForce 9600M
1 Piece Aluminum Base

What else needs to be said? I think Apple made some awesome improvements, not sure how I feel about the Glossy-only display though. I could see that being the only drawback. I'll definitely have to make a trip to the Apple store to check these guy's out.

5. Wacom Cintiq 21UX

This beast costs 2 grand, but this would be the ultimate accessory for Photoshop. Our school has some that we can use, but I want one of these on my own desk. Until I get a real job someday, I'll have to work with the Intous.

You've basically just experienced a class worth of my daydreaming.

thanks for checkin it out,
Kody

A Blog is Born

I'm creating this blog to keep track of what I think is awesome, that's it. My goal is to update as much as possible, we'll see how that goes. This blog will be full of things that I find that influence me, or just think are sweet. Hopefully you'll agree.
